Creative goals for 2021 & finished projects

General plans and ambitions A pair of socks for my dad! These were actually a Christmas gift for him, but we had our belated family Christmas in early January, and technically, I didn't bind off the second sock until January third. These are his first pair of handknit socks that I've knit for him, and they won't be his last! As such, I did have to figure out a good "recipe" that fits him and I took lots of notes on my Ravelry page so that I can recreate the same fit next time. I think the garter rib looks nice, and it seems to fit well, as well as it's a rather simple texture that still knits up quickly. Details: Yarn: Paton's North America Kroy Socks in the color Eclipse stripes Pattern: my own numbers for vanilla socks (CO 72 stitches on US 1), used toe decreases and notes from Late Night Socks Needles: US size 1, since this yarn errs on the thicker side of fingering to lightweight sportweight Specifics/modifications: I compared the foot length to another pair of socks he had (thanks, mom!) There is one other finished project that is en route to its recipient; I will share more once it arrives...

Pink Lou box top, finished

This morning, my SIL, Katelyn, Cooper, her puppy Sage, and I went to grab coffee to-go, and then stopped by a local park. Cooper loves the playground, and it was such a gorgeous morning to sit outside with a baby on my lap and drink a latte. And since I wore this top, Katelyn took a few photos. I can finally consider it "done," now that I've shared it here...

Yarn: Cascade Yarns Eco Duo (alpaca/merino blend) Pattern: Graham by Jennifer Adams Specifics/modifications: Specifics/modifications: I sized down my needles (of course), and I altered the crown of the hat to make it slightly less pointed. In all honesty, I haven't blocked this yet, but I do imagine that the crown will flatten some when I do block it. Yarn: Stress Knits favorite base, in the colorway etching (grey), and madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light + Copper Glitter, in the colorway Mars Rover...

Creative goals for 2020 and finished Christmas socks

General plans/ambitions: Christmas socks! I received this yarn from my parents at our early Christmas celebration, and decided to cast them on right away, even if they wouldn't be finished by Christmas 2019. For these socks, I used the heel and gusset shaping from the Cyril socks pattern, since that produces the best fit for my high arches. I knit these just as a vanilla sock with my preferred numbers. The basic info is listed below, but for even more details, you can see my ravelry project page...
