Finished Mavis baby hat

With spring, it's also baby season, isn't it? I have so many sweet friends expecting babies in the next several months, so I plan to squeeze in some baby knits between my larger projects, because they are so fun to knit and every new little babe should have a little something handmade, I think.

It's incredibly satisfying to have a moderate amount of beautiful yarn remaining from a project and then be able to turn those leftovers into something beautiful and useful. This may be my favorite use of leftovers to date, especially since this little hat shows off the yarn's subtle tonality even more than my Fleesensee hat does.

Details

For even more details, you can see my ravelry project page

Yarn: Quince and Co Phoebe, in the color venus, leftover from my Fleesensee hat

Pattern: Mavis baby set by Oomieknits (specifically, the hat pattern)

Needles: US size 5. I sized down from the pattern recommendations for needles, as is my usual for my loose tension.

Specifics/modifications: I knit the 6-9 month size per pattern, apart from sizing down my needles. I found a 5/8" button at JoAnn's that I liked best for the strap.
