Pumpkins and a covered bridge
In mid-October, we drove down to the Indy area to spend the weekend with my sister- and brother-in-law. We hadn't visited them since they got married in May and bought a house, so we were more than overdue.
On Friday evening, we arrived at their house, and we had burgers and homemade sourdough buns, followed by a fire in their backyard with s'mores. The boys absolutely loved that they had their own guest room, so they were excited to go to bed, and we relaxed some on the couch after they were asleep.
On Saturday morning, we woke up and had breakfast of bacon, eggs, and coffee that Katelyn made (so good)! And then we got ready for the day and headed to a local apple orchard and pumpkin patch. They have a huge kids' area, with tube slides, farm-related games, and a corn maze. We all really enjoyed ourselves.
Then we took a break to enjoy donuts, before heading out to the pumpkin patch to pick out some to take home.
We had sandwiches on sourdough bread back at their house, and then we went to a local coffee shop, followed by a visit to a local park that had a playground, a few trails, and a covered bridge. The boys loved the playground and we all really enjoyed the bridge. We went on a short hike and then lingered outside on that beautiful afternoon as long as we could before a storm front moved in and brought heavy rain.
Cooper looks so sad because he just dropped something he was holding off the bridge (whoops)
Dinner was homemade tacos, and then after the boys were in bed, the grown ups played euchre until late into the evening, something I haven't done in ages.
On Sunday morning, we packed up our things and then headed to one of the Patachou locations for breakfast (we love their omelets, cooked in butter, with sourdough toast, and the boys love the waffle and bacon). After hugs and goodbyes, with to-go coffees in hand, we drove home in the rain, hearts very full from a packed and wonderful weekend.
Thank you for hosting us in your beautiful home, Katelyn and Devin! Can't wait to visit again soon. We love you guys.
