Navy cardigan for Cooper, finished

It's been awhile since I wrote a knitting-focused post, but I have been knitting away over the past few months. Many of my projects are secret (or nearly secret) until after Christmas, but I did finish a sweater for Cooper that I wanted to share before the onslaught of finished Christmas gifts.

I've knit this pattern once before, for a friend's little girl, so I was familiar with the construction. That said, it's a lovely pattern, but it does require a lot of finishing work (seamed hem, sewn-on buttons, attached i-cord neckline, etc). For something so sweet and tiny, it's absolutely worth the work for me, but I do need to tackle those particular parts of the project when my mood is right for it.

I'm very pleased with the finished item, and I can't wait to see how it looks on Cooper, once it fits. (But for that to happen, he has to get bigger, and I'm in no rush for that).

For more details, see my ravelry project page

Yarn: Valley Yarns Superwash DK, in the color classic navy

Size: 6-9 month

Pattern: the cardigan from the Mavis baby set by Oomieknits

Needles: US 5, a size smaller than the recommended

Specifics/modifications: None. The pattern is very well written. I do need to pay attention to the ubiquitous at the same time directions. As such, the buttons are slightly further apart than the pattern called for. And I reknit the yoke after falling asleep knitting one too many times and making errors in my increases. ;)
